[Guess they're stuck on this capricious island forever.

Livio sighs, lays his head against Dolph again. What does he even say to all this.]

... Sorry.

It's fine. It's the end I chose, at least.

[ well. sort of. dolph was dying anyway. he remembers sarah's voice dimly at the time. you got what you wanted. his death wish, fulfilled. and now he's here. what does that mean for him?

he runs his fingers down livio's back quietly. ]

[Livio might not be able to relate to that quite so much -- he had at least wanted to see things through before just letting himself die. To help make sure Vash succeeded, that Legato and Knives couldn't hurt people anymore. But once the threads were tightened, nothing on the planet could have saved him short of divine intervention, and after all he's been through under the weight of a cross, Livio doesn't think he actually believes in God.

The fact that Dolph had that choice is... oddly comforting, in a fucked up way. And it won't help him for Livio to dwell on a past he can't change.]

We're here now. And as long as I am, I support your dream, wherever it'll take you.

[ that sounds nice. almost too good to be true if dolph hadn't grasped the measure of livio. all those broken pieces that they share. ]

What about your dream?

Will you let yourself have one of your own?

[livlaughlove]

I... don't know that I have one. I don't know if I could ever want somethin' so specific.

[Maybe somewhere in the recesses of his mind, Livio just wants peace and happiness. But he doesn't think he deserves that, so calling it a dream feels like false hope.

Not that he wants to say that out loud to Dolph. It would be hypocritical, and he doesn't want to discourage him.]

[ gently, but still with some firmness. something he didn't think he'd have it in him. to push a little. it's strange because he found it so difficult when other people pressed the point.

maybe because . . . it still matters. even if he didn't have an answer yet. even if he lost everything. even if starting over means the pain of it all could return. like a fresh coat of paint.

he didn't want alex to be right. that happy endings were pointless for people like them. ]

I don't have one either.

I asked if you'd let yourself have one.

[livlaughlove]

[It seems that's exactly what will spur Livio to finally roll over. Light pressure, applied with care. Even after everything, he's hopelessly soft.]

... I'll do my best, if one comes to me. Is that alright?

[laserhawk]

Sure.

[ he leans to press a kiss upon his brow. ]

I'll do the same.

[livlaughlove]

Thank you.

[He heaves a sigh, twisting just a bit to kiss along Dolph's collarbone in turn. Livio had liked it when Dolph gave attention to the area of his neck.]

[laserhawk]

[ that is pleasant. dolph tilts his neck invitingly. ]

You're a fast learner.

[livlaughlove]

I try...

[Actually, that is something about himself Livio can be proud of, even if he's used it for bitter ends before. Here, in this application, he's grateful. Livio glances up at Dolph, checking to make sure he's enjoying himself, before trailing more kisses up along his pulse.]

[ he sighs, pleased as he runs his hands down livio's hair and down his neck and back. he presses another kiss to livio's hair. ]

[livlaughlove]

[Maybe it's a little stiff because... they're just on a couple of wooden chairs, but Livio pulls Dolph's body to his own as best he can.

The kisses continue up to his jaw, then follow the sharp line to his chin. Liv takes a small breather there to blink slowly at Dolph. It would be an overstatement to call them bedroom eyes, but there's clear affection in his gaze nonetheless.]

[laserhawk]

[ oh. for a moment, dolph's breath catches. he can't look away from it. he cradles livio's face as if he wants to memorize it. for a moment, he remembers — but it slips away painlessly.

could this be his future? could he really . . . ]

[livlaughlove]

[Liv's head tilts against that hand, as a soft breath escapes him over Dolph's throat.]

Y'alright, darlin'?

[laserhawk]

[ his fingers caress the curse of livio's face, as if committing it to memory. a new shape to learn and adore. he missed this. he missed this as much as he missed his limb. ]

I . . . I just want to look at you.

[livlaughlove]

Oh. That's fine.

[He's flattered, really... Especially by the look in Dolph's eye. Livio can hardly believe anyone would look at him like that.

Without moving around too much, he slides his free hand up Dolph's arm and shoulder, to splay lazily in the longer part of his hair.]

You're beautiful.

[laserhawk]

[ his breath hitches at the compliment. livio had said that before, but here, in his arms, dolph lets the tentative tendril of hope and desire curl around his heart. warm, like it used to be. dolph leans in to kiss him softly, cupping the back of livio's neck and lightly nipping at his bottom lip. ]

[livlaughlove]

[Again, Dolph doesn't shy away from praise, and Livio's chest swells with pride, as silly as that may be. He hums pleasantly into the kiss, one short, sharp note at the nip. His fingers drag slowly down through Dolph's hair.]

[laserhawk]

[ dolph hums, a soft keen sound at the back of his throat to signal his pleasure at the touch as he deepens the kiss, licking into the warm heat of livio's mouth, wanting to make this as pleasurable for him as he can. ]

[livlaughlove]

[Though he's too nervous yet to pull Dolph by the hair, Livio slips that hand to the back of his head to hold him closer, press their lips closer. He finds himself craving the earthy -- and bitter, if it isn't his imagination -- taste of the tea lingering on Dolph's tongue, so much so that a muffled sound like a groan rumbles from his mouth to Dolph's.]

[ dolph feels the reverberation through him and he finds that they're not close enough. he wants to be closer. he wants and the feeling tangles itself around his heart and head like a heady fog. he climbs onto livio's lap, pressing against him with his fingers cradling his jaw like he's holding the most precious thing in the world.

the chair creaks but dolph pays no attention to it. ]

[livlaughlove]

[Maybe if things weren't exactly as they are, Livio would notice the sound and have a war flashback to his own kitchen. But as it stands... he has never been touched like this before in his life. His head is swimming, his chest tightening, his belly swiftly warming, and he can't focus on anything but Dolph.

He shifts his weight back to make more room for Dolph, just to pull him closer, and... any further cracking of wood comes too late to correct. Oops!]

[laserhawk]

[ the chair collapses and they tumble onto the floor, with dolph falling on top of livio with a light oof. he tries to prop himself up so that livio isn't squashed, hair falling over his face as he quickly asks. ]

Are you all right?

[livlaughlove]

[The déjà vu.

Dazed for a moment, Livio just kind of... groans.

... After he blinks a few times and looks Dolph over to make sure he's in better shape than the splintered wood, he thunks his head back onto the ground and laughs. Progressively louder.

He's fine.]
