[ A photo pops up on Dolph's device. It's from the waist down; Jean appears to be sitting on one of the floating docks, judging from the water in front of his legs. He's holding an empty fishing hook up to the camera; in the water, something appears to be swimming away in a blur. ]
[ Jean texts an acknowledgement and continues his attempts at fishing. By the time Dolph arrives, he's pulled in the line for now, leaning back on his hands and looking up at the stars. His shoes and socks are pulled off, slacks rolled up to his knees; one leg is bent at the knee and the other is idly drifting through the water.
When he spots Dolph he raises a hand, smile growing bold and bright. ]
[ dolph rolls his own pants before striding out to where jean was. it's strange to recall memories of the past, his past here. when he first arrived, he tried fishing and he failed miserably. jack russell had helped him then. ]
[ Oh. This is familiar to him showing Dolph how to cut vegetables, and he leans back into his fiancee a little as he settles. Then he's immediately told to be still, and while he does as instructed, he does grumble. ]
Hard to be still with you looking like that behind me.
[ Jean snorts, but lets Dolph take more of his weight. He manages to stay still for the length of time it finally takes for the line to dip under a bite. He half turns his head to look at Dolph, the silent question of what do I do now? clear on his face. ]
[ Jean pulls on the rod as well when Dolph tells him too, almost throwing himself forward and into the water in his excitement. Between the two of them they pull up a fish. It's....
It's not very big, maybe the size of Jean's palm. His pride immediately turns to a frown despite knowing that one can't do everything right on a first try. ]

[ He offers the kit for Dolph's inspection, watching him closely. ]

You have to give it more time. If you pull after a single bob, they'll run off. It needs to sink below the water before you can reel them in.

[ He frowns a little bit but doesn't fight the advice, reaching out to grab a piece of bait and do as suggested. ]

[ once the bait is placed, dolph navigates behind jean, clasping his arms on top of his. ]
Just be as still as can be.
