[Tim actually looks a little relieved to know that Kazu had been successful in his efforts. Even if he's not here to know it]
The gifts...
[They're going to stop because Kazu isn't here to cook the food in it, to figure out what gifts will be best. Tim thinks perhaps he could pretend for a while, but it's still going to hurt when they stop]
[Tim leads them further into the lavish beach house, taking them into the kitchen and retrieving some glasses]
There's alcohol, but I've also got soda, milk, water, juice... [Tim looks a little confused like he doesn't remember stocking the fridge with all of this; because he doesn't.]
Yeah, I don't think Kyle was thinking anything beyond just restocking. Neither of us has been working on a full night of sleep.
We were both dating Kazu...
[They were both feeling that lose. Tim decides since Dolph hasn't picked anything he'll just bring over water but then bring over some pre cut fruit over as well.]
I used to tease him so much about you. Kept saying that he like liked you.
[There's a pause from Tim now before he realises it doesn't matter if he's breaking this promise to Kazu. He would happily deal with the fallout from doing so if it meant the man was back in Duplicity]
He did, but he wasn't going to act on it. He said it would probably make you feel like the gifts were expecting something back then, and that was the opposite of what he wanted.
If he ever comes back into the city, don't tell him I told you or do. I would give anything to hear him tell me off.
I'd probably end up telling him anyway, just to see him panic and make a big fuss about it.
Do you like him? cause if you do, you should just kiss him out of nowhere if you ever see him again. That would be hilarious because I can see it, his brain would just shut down.
Perhaps you do, but I think you're just avoiding answering the question.
[And really, if you did in fact like Kazu it seems that a lot of things that might need to be worked out could just be taken care of with a confession of sorts]
[Tim pauses, realising belatedly that he'd taken it too far and not sure how to proceed with the conversation]
That's fair. I just liked the idea of seeing him flustered, but that's just kind of how we were. Always poking to get a reaction until one of us decided to just sit on the other or something to that effect.
He would have been a good teacher. I should have utilised the time in the kitchen better, but I liked just getting him messy instead.
Perhaps we should learn together. I think we threw that idea about when we met, but never did anything about it.
[Tim has bought it up with a few people and just never followed through although he has gotten better at cooking just from being in the city and preparing things for his partners.]
Okay, then we'll do that. Maybe come around next week? Same time, and we'll figure it out. I'll either find a teacher by then, or we'll just get a recipe book and just wing it.
We can tell Kazu all about the messes we make. [He sounds so hopeful that they'll get to do that one day]
Stir fry? That's handy. You'll have to show me that one.
I've seen Kazu make pizza before but I don't think I could actually do the base. I feel like from there it's not really hard enough to be worth cooking unless we want a cheat day.
[OOC: want to call this one there? they brain storm and make plans?]

I imagine you have already figured it out.
no subject
Yeah. It was him. I had a feeling but this confirmed it.

He wanted you to get nice things that you might not have had a chance to try and your world.
But didn't want you to feel like he expected something back. Hence the secrecy.
[ Tim shrugs and indicates further into the house.]
Would you like something to drink?
no subject
Sure.

I won't say anything.

If confessions could fix everything . . . . [ he shakes his head. ] . . . It's just something I prefer to talk to him about.

I doubt he was that rough with you though?
no subject
He was never rough. He just . . . felt strongly. About a lot of things. About me.
And I didn't know what to do with that.
no subject
We were just lucky that we became two of those people.
[Tim falls into silence again, sipping at the soda he got out for himself but not knowing how to continue the conversation]
We cooked in this kitchen, well, Kazu cooked. I did my best to distract him.

He was going to teach me.

[Even if Laserhawk didn't want to do this now, Tim slides from his stool at the kitchen island and gets them pens and paper]
I can mostly do some breakfast items, scrambled eggs and pancakes, although they're not the most aesthetically pleasing things, they're edible.
